Mind Blowing Tax Story: The 53,000 Rupees Income Man Who Now Owes 113 Crore Rupees in Taxes

business News

Income Tax : Ravi Gupta, a resident of Bhind, Madhya Pradesh, is facing a demand notice from the Income Tax (I-T) department to pay a large amount of ₹113.83 crore for alleged transactions worth ₹132 crore in his account during 2011-12. However, Mr. Gupta denies any wrongdoing and claims that he is a

victim of a large-scale fraud racket. He alleges that he is being mentally harassed by the repeated notices from the I-T department. Two of his colleagues from the same BPO have also received similar I-T notices for 2011-12.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) has initiated an inquiry into Ravi Gupta's case after ANI reported

in 2020. Despite the inquiry, the I-T department issued yet another notice to Mr. Gupta on March 28. Mr. Gupta plans to appeal against the latest notice, as he has done with the previous ones.

Mr. Gupta has filed complaints with the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), but

they have not investigated the matter yet. He hopes that his case will be investigated thoroughly. The I-T department's notice gives the recipient an opportunity to present an appeal under Part A of Chapter XX of the Income-Tax Act, 1961, to the National Faceless Appeal Centre (NFAC) within thirty days of receiving the notice.
